Subject: [Histonet] Xylene Free Processing?

I would appreciate hearing all of your expert opinions on processing tissue without the use of xylene or any type of xylene substitute.  Our processor was down recently, and a friendly local lab processed our tissue this way for us.  Of course, the Pathologists loved it.  The process was formalin, followed by graduated percentages of only isopropyl alcohol, and then paraffin.

What are your feelings concerning immunos?  Overall cost?  Any other thoughts?

Thanks in advance!
