If you go to http://www.op.nysed.gov/prof/clt/  it will give you the histology courses that you will need to work in NY state. You will need more than just a biology degree, but take a look.
If you  have any further questions please don't hesitate to ask. I have worked closely with the NYSED on the licensing for histology.
