[Histonet] alternates to absolute ethanol

Dear Michael,
Have you tried absolute methanol? The cost of the reagent should be less
expensive than absolute ethanol and is easier to obtain than absolute
ethanol (i.e. less legal restrictions than absolute ethanol that can be
diverted to non-laboratory use).
When fixing bacterial smears for a variety of staining methods, I have
discovered absolute methanol works well and is often superior to heat
fixation.
