Oops my mistake.  I understand that stains themselves can't have internal controls.  I meant to say that I was under the impression that the tissue had an internal control.  In other words I thought that the nuclei stained blue in addition to the H. pylori organism. Therefore, the nuclei served as an internal control.  
   
  We've been running this stain without a control tissue for quite some time.  We've never been cited on a CAP inspection for lack of a control which is why I was curious what other people were doing.  One of our pathologists was concerned.  Thanks for the advise.
