Try processing as routine tissue, block out the nail so you are sectioning
it along the vertical or diagonal (assuming it has been cut transversely),
soften in Baker's fluid for half hour (10% glycerine in 70% alcohol) and
mount onto gelatin/chrome alum-coated slides (0.1% chrome alum in 1%
gelatin). Haven't tried immunos on nails - best of luck!
