According to books, the spirochaetes are rarely demonstrable in tissues or
body fluids, especially in the later stages of the disease, and you have to
rely on specialized culture. Warthin Starry will stain spirochaetes;
Levaditi's method would show them too.

Our Hematology dept. asked us to develop a procedure for Heinz Body Stain.
Does anyone have such a procedure that they could send us?   Thanks for your

I have IHC for Borrelia burgdorferi, but I have never seen a positive human
case.  I have obtained positive staining in animal tissue and, obviously,
our positive control tissue (lung injected with B.
burgdorferi).
