Hi Fred,

One of the best ways to show amniotic fluid embolism is to demonstrate
the fetal epitheial cells in the capillaries of the materal lungs
(assuming that the mother is deceased and that lung tissue is
available). A good method for this is the Lendrum phloxine tartrazine,
the fetal cells appear a brilliant red on a yellow background with blue
nuclei. The method is included in most histology texts, probably listed
under methods for demonstrating acidophilic viral inclusion bodies.

If you can't find the method, I can let you have it.

Paul
