[OCRcommunications] REDCap Downtime for Upgrade

Dear REDCap Users,


REDCap will be upgraded on March 11th from 7pm - 12am. During this time, REDCap will be unavailable.

To enhance the security of REDCap, UT Southwestern will remove email from the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) option list on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 7pm. This change will only impact external users (Non-UTSW Colleagues). Please inform your external colleagues. This added security layer provides an extra level of protection against unauthorized access, safeguarding REDCap, its users, and sensitive data collections. Please note: this requirement only applies when logging into the REDCap application and will not affect survey respondents.

External users are required to take a few simple steps to prepare. Please review the instructions below. Detailed guidance is provided in the attached tipsheet.

External Users (Non-UTSW Colleagues):

1. Initially, log in to REDCap using the Email option, on the 2FA option list.
2. Once logged in, set up Google Authenticator, which will be required for all future logins.

After March 14, 2025: Google Authenticator will be the only supported 2FA option for external users. Please ensure Google Authenticator is fully set up before March 14, 2025, to avoid any disruptions in access.
