Dear Colleagues,

The Office of Clinical Research (OCR) research credentialing team is pleased to announce that from April 17, we will be utilizing a REDCap Research Credentialing Application to replace our original paper format. The purpose of the electronic application (eApplication) is to establish a central research credentialing application site for all three organizations: UT Southwestern, Parkland, and Children’s Health and help streamline research credentialing for study teams. Currently, the REDCap Research Credentialing Application covers UTSW and Parkland. We are closely working with Children’s Health to get them onboard soon and will keep you informed of progress. We are currently testing the system and will be using the below processes for credentialing going forward:

For new researchers who have not previously been research credentialed:

Email UTSWResearchCredentialing at utsouthwestern.edu to request an individual REDCap survey link to start your research credentialing application.

For researchers who have completed research credentialing and undergo annual renewals:

For annual renewal applications, the OCR research credentialing team will email individuals an application renewal link beginning with those who are due to recredential in May.

OCR is also creating an accompanying Power BI report: Research Training Database, to provide a method to track educational and research credentialing records. We will keep teams updated on when this is available for use.

We will hold a town hall presentation and take any questions you might have. Please save the date: May 18, 12-1pm. An invite will follow shortly.
We welcome any feedback which users may have on the new system. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any feedback or queries to either
UTSWResearchCredentialing at utsouthwestern.edu or OCR at utsouthwestern.edu

Best Wishes

Office of Clinical Research
