Grossing technicians' issue in surgical pathology laboratories is more than staffing. It is predominately quality when correct sampling, orientation and other technical details can influence the pathologist's diagnosis. I addressed this in my Grossing technology: A Guide for biopsies and Small Specimens and Skin Grossing in Histology Laboratories books.
