We tried it out, and found that our specimens were apparently TOO paucicellular for even the cellient to make decent cell blocks - after a few months of trialing, we sent it back. Our director had been very hopeful, and was disappointed. Oh, it was also expensive because of the required consumables. Definitely try before you buy!

Question - What has been your experience with Hologic's Cellient instrument for preparing cell block specimens? I understand that it is very good for pauci-cellular specimens. However, I am concerned about using these preparations for immunohistochemical and DNA/RNA testing. Thank you!

Richard
