[Histonet] Benchmarks for reprocessing

We are down to < 0.1%, but I think you have to take into account your grossing staff. We are just medium sized and have an outstanding PA. Our 2 new Leica 6025 processors have also made a big difference. I suspect if you are a teaching hospital with residents grossing, there would be a learning curve. When I was at UVA, our percentages were not so good until we hired a PA to oversee the gross room and to teach grossing skills.
Just my 2 cents.
Thx, T

We try to be at 0.5% or less. We monitored as a quality indicator for several years and had to modify something to get to that point, but it is pretty steady now. We have new residents constantly rotating into pathology so it is a training issue every month.
