[Histonet] revised Cap regulation ANP .21395 ??

Hello Histonetters,

What is the take home message of this revision? How are other labs complying with respect to Special staining?  Do you keep records of individual case control verification or just individual block verification? Does anyone run NEG controls for Special staining? Is this regulation requiring Neg Controls for special stains? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Special Stains/Studies

For special stains, including histochemical stains, and studies using immunologic and ISH methodology, positive and negative controls are verified and recorded as acceptable prior to or concurrent with the reporting of patient results and records maintained. "
