Davidson’s fixative is suggested to for use to fix in up to 24 hours. The small nodes should be at least halved and larger nodes cut no more than 2-3 mm thick. There are a few papers that state “small biopsies can be fixed rapidly”. I suggest < 6 hours for small biopsies. I would do, minimally, a quick verification study on multiple tissue samples before risking diagnostic samples. Hope that helps.

Hi;
I am wondering what is the optimal time for Davidson's fixative (range). This is in regards to a sectioned lymph node.
Thanks;
