Tamara, Yes, it is possible, and some do immuno on plastic sections with this method, but it's a lot of work and the issue arises of whether you have validated your stains to work when this method is used. And do you have controls treated the same way? In the clinical diagnostic environment, in purely practical terms, it is not worthwhile.

You can do this, but it won't be pretty - if you trim as much of the plastic away as you can, you can etch the resin away with sodium methoxide (or ethoxide):
