[Histonet] bone saw blades

Hi all, in our lab we have a Buehler Isomet Low Speed Saw that looks like it is from the 80's. Up until about 7 months ago, we have used the bone saw fairly infrequently. As far as I know, this bone saw wafering blade has never been replaced. We now have a researcher who regularly needs sections of bone cut and the blade is getting much more frequent use, like hundreds of bones per project. My question to you is, how long do these blades stay sharp? Do they ever need sharpening? What is their lifespan? What kind of maintenance do they need?
