Why are you fixing ?
Try unfixed frozen?
Or, why not Pwax embedded?
They cut well in Pwax.
Sure, you may have to "polish" the cut surface with tissue damped in water/20% alcohol to prevent cracking/curling just before each section is cut.
Or, after fixation, place in 30% sucrose until kidneys sink.
Store at 4C until you freeze ( if not immediately).
You will have to try several approaches until you find the correct one for your Lab.
