Yes, I always want to see the immunoreactivity "drop-off" (or even disappear) with a higher dilution(s).  Otherwise, you might be wasting antibody by using a dilution that is too concentrated.  Also, be careful with the recommended dilution.  That dilution is only applicable if you are using the exact same staining conditions.

When you titer a new antibody you go one below and one above the recommend dilution. If you find that the one above the dilution works do you go then out two more to make sure they don't work? This is a question in our lab right now.
