I would suggest that it is the potting mix that is the culprit not the plant.

But then remember Histo laboratories are not ICUs nor are they Microbiology laboratories.

Hate to say it, but yes plants are considered infectious. Thats why you cant take them in ICU's either. I guess the mold or bacterias can grow on them. Most places let this slide, but some dont. Good luck!

I have had plants in a number of labs. Could be against the rules, but I never saw it. I even had a canary in one lab - pretty sure that is against the rules.
