This works if you are doing traditional specials--never worked out if it affected IHC.  We used it for autopsy brained -called it "double cook"--and you can't scratch the tissue off with a knife after they're handled like this. 
 
Dry your slides in low heat the way you always would.  Then cool completely.  Heat them again til the wax melts and the slide is up to the higher temp (about 10 minutes).  Cool and handle as usual. 
 
Something about the expanding and contracting of going in and out of the heat twice 'snuggles' the tissue onto the slide.
