Only if the procedure calls for it.  If not, then you can try holding the slides in buffer and refrigerate.  Just be sure to allow the slides to come to room temperature before resuming.

   Can  you  leave  your  primary antibody on slides overnight (or the w   eekend)  or  will  this  screw  things  up?   I  don't want to be here
   another=uple of hours for secondary, etc. on a Friday!!
