Hi Peggy,  From my experience, during the decal process the cement will fall out or loosen enough so that you can gently remove it and maintain fibrous ingrowth and detail. I have removed ceramic; implants; stents and cement using a scalpel and then embedded in paraffin for cuts on a sledge microtome. The detail is beautiful even without the cement present. If you have the capability, a corresponding section in PMMA can be processed.  ~ Vicki
