I know that storing in 10% NBF will. I have a bottle full of positive lung that lit up when stained with AFB. After a year or so in formalin, I get no staining what so ever.

Theoretically it might. Remember that serous bacteria covering could be partially dissolved by EthOL. But try it, and let everybody know how it came about.
