[Histonet] Treating Golgi-Kopsch sections with photographic developers

Hi,
I'm trying to stabilize Golgi-Kopsch sections with photographic developers,
but the sections turn very black almost instantly after being immersed in developer.
The sections become opaque and upon fixing in Kodak rapid fixer, will gradually
become clearer over the course of hours (rather than minutes).
Anyone else have any other ideas on how to make this work, or what my problem is?
