[Histonet] Grossing Question

It has been brought to my attention that some facilities may be using non
PA's to gross the larger surgical specimens (i.e. uterus, colon, and
breast). These "grossers" fall under the CLIA guidelines for "high
complexity testing". Is this "legit"? I thought that there was a specimen
type or complexity that these "grossers" should not even be doing. If this
is the case then doesn't it devalue the PA? Not that I think it does.
Thanks.
