Does anyone have any experience with dissecting fetal rat tissues? We
need to collect the mammary gland of a gestation day 18 rat fetus. I was
told it might require using a dissecting microscope. I have never
collected tissues from anything smaller than a post natal day 21 rat, so
I would appreciate any help you could offer. I believe we could manage
it if I knew exactly what to look for or what there is too see on the
rat at that age. I know others who take tissues like the liver, but that
is not quite the same as locating and taking out the mammary gland.

Do you think if we took the skin and fixed it, we would be able to get
the gland off later (within a day or two)?
