You can make a 10% EDTA solution and adjust the pH to 7.4 but if the
mouse femurs have been fixed in 10% formalin, I would suggest that you
use 10% formalin saturated with EDTA. I have used both and the
morphology of the bones decalcified with EDTA/Formalin is much better
than the 10% solution of EDTA.

I am getting ready to decalcify some mouse femurs for immuno staining.
I know I have to use an EDTA decalcifier, but I do not know how to make
it. Does anybody have a protocol on this that they would be willing to
share?
