[Histonet] Stains for Hemaglobin

I am looking for a specific stain for hemoglobin in formalin-fixed,
paraffin-embedded canine tissue. I could either use IHC or a special
stain. Any ideas?

I found a reference for a Puchtler-Rosenthal-Sweat Method for hemoglobin
but it says that it only works in tissue fixed in Zenker's.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience in this before we try it.
