[Histonet] Mouse eye paraffin section

What is the secret to good intact morphology in rodent/mouse eye
paraffin processing? The retina detaches from the back of the eye, and
there doesn't appear to be much we can do to keep it there.  Is it
because the vitreous humor is being replaced by fixative, alcohol,
clearant, and paraffin?  Does it help to inject fixative in the globe
(quasi-perfuse)? Does it help to fix longer than 24 hours (I'm thinking
probably so).  What are others out there doing to keep your eye
structures intact during paraffin processing?
