Based on advice from Loui Harkins, you might want to try the Decal
Antigen Retrieval solution from Biogenex. It's used for 30 minutes at
room temperature and is much nicer to decalcified bone sections. You
may have to use it in conjunction with enzyme digestion, but I would try
it as is first to see if you get any staining before going on to
something that will cause more specimen lifting. I am not endorsing this
product over every other, just throwing it out there as an option. Bone
for immunohistochemistry is a pain in the neck for us too.
