Dear HistoNetters

There are considerable differences between the
models of microwave tissue processors available.
I would look at these features:

° How is the temperature controlled? (remote sensor vs. temperature probe?)
° How is temperature equilibrated within the
solution? (magnetic stirring vs. air bubble
agitation?)
° Was the unit built for the lab or is it a converted domestic microwave?
° How thorough is the User's Manual regarding procedures?
° How simple is the user's interface? How easy
is it to make a serious error that would
compromise the tissue?
° Can you observe the process in real time?
° Are accessories available from the
manufacturer for various specific applications?

Any manufacturer should be willing to provide a demonstration.

Feel free to contact me directly with any specific questions.
