We make up 5 litres of 0.01M tri-sodium citrate buffer at a time and keep it
at room temperature. We decant what we need and pH it. The rest seems to
keep for a few weeks without any problem.

Hi Histonetters
I have a question about the longevity of antigen retrieval buffers.
If you make up your own buffers such as the following :
1 mM EDTA (pH 8.0)
10 mM Citrate (pH 6.0)
10 mM tri-sodium citrate (pH 6.0)
100 mM Tris / 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0)
10 mM Tris (pH 10.0)
How long can these solutions be kept at 4C without affecting the efficiency
of the buffer.
Thanks
Stan
