[Histonet] Triton vs. Tween

I use TritonX to permeablize cells that have been cultured for staining. 
Tween I use as a wetting agent in buffers when washing slides this is what
makes the wash buffer sheet off the slide. I think?!@

Can anyone out there tell me when you are supposed to use tritonX instead of

tween 20 and why some protocols use both? Are they both just mild
detergents?
