Hi Nicole,

There are various ways to fix bone. My lab generally fixes mouse hind limbs with 10% Neutral Buffered Formalin for 3 day with or without perfusion. The key to fixation is proper grossing and long enough time for fixative to penetrate tissue.

Histonetters:

Our lab needs to paraffin embed and cut bone.  Is there a special
process for fixation of bone, or can it be harvested and dropped right
into NBF?
