<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:black;mso-ligatures:none">We are pleased to announce the formation of a ‘Clinical Research Budget Negotiation Working Group.’ This is a joint initiative between OCR, SPA, and the CTSA program.
We are fortunate to have several volunteers with tremendous experience in clinical research budgets and finance from different departments and centers across the campus who agreed to serve on this working group. For further details, please see that attached

<b><u>Velos Status Hierarchy Training:<o:p></o:p></u></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:8.0pt;text-align:justify;line-height:106%">
Changes were made to the training module “<b>Updating a Patient Status in Sequence</b>” to offer more insight into what it means to have Velos statuses updated out of sequence as well as mandatory status updates and the correct way to enter them. The updated
training highlights incorrect patient status updates and what to do if an incorrect status is entered or if a patient is added to a study in error. And finally, we explain what happens if an updated patients EMR is opened simultaneously during an update in
Velos.<o:p></o:p></p>

<b><u>Patient Status Hierarchy Levels Tipsheet:<o:p></o:p></u></b></p>

A new tipsheet has been added to our website that highlights <b>steps to avoid adding patient status updates out of sequence</b> providing screenshots of side-by-side Velos and Epic audit trails. The tipsheet provides
<b>guidance on what to do if a patient is added to a study in error and adding an incorrect patient status update.</b> There is also an explanation of
<b>what happens between Velos and Epic if a patient update happens while an Epic chart is opened (this usually happens if another UTSW employee happens to be using the chart at the same time).<o:p></o:p></b></p>
