I use the B&D too, and I just fill the steamer fuller than you are supposed to..... almost to the top, and it always has enough for preheating and the longest time I use (40 min). The other thing I do sometimes (more for speed than for the reason you mention) is to heat the buffer in the microwave for a bit first. Then the preheating time is less than 20 minutes.<BR>
