I have tried to use The Paraffin Tape Transfer System many times and found it caused compression and tares in the tissue cores. And I don't know anyone that has had much success with it.

Recently we did a study with four other institutions around the USA using TMA specimens. One of the labs used the Paraffin Tape Transfer System and the specimens were almost unreadable. The quality was not acceptable in our laboratory. Everyone else cut the TMAs as you would cut paraffin blocks using a water bath to float the tissue sections.

Has anyone had any success using the tape system besides the company that developed it?
