font-family:Arial'>We have been working on the Jones stain for kidney basement
membranes.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'> </span>We have our internal
control specimen which is a human specimen.<span
style='mso-spacerun:yes'> </span>The other specimens we are staining are
rat kidneys.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'> </span>When we stain the
slides, the human kidney comes out great, very good staining of the basement
membranes, <span class=GramE>very</span> slight nuclear staining with no
precipitate.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'> </span>The rat kidneys don’t
look as nice, there is good staining of the basement membrane, but the nuclear
staining is more predominant and there is intense granular staining in the
cytoplasm, which sometimes looks like a precipitate.<span
style='mso-spacerun:yes'> </span>Does anyone have any suggestions?<span
