Rapid curing may be useful in workflows where reducing the interval between coverslipping and subsequent slide handling is desirable. Xylene-free mounting media may also be worth evaluating for laboratories seeking to reduce or eliminate xylene from their mounting-media workflow.

As with any mounting medium, performance can depend on the specimen, staining procedure, mounting technique, coverslip, and characteristics of the UV light source. Laboratories should evaluate curing consistency, optical clarity, adhesion, and long-term slide stability under their own working conditions.

For reference, technical specifications for Tek-Select UV Mounting Media from IMEB Inc. are available here:

Best Regards,

Armando Padilla
