West Virginia University (WVU) is seeking a full-time (non-tenure) faculty member for the Histotechnology Program, Division of Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostics, within the Department of Pathology, Anatomy, and Laboratory Medicine in the School of Medicine.
The Division consists of three NAACLS accredited programs; two undergraduate, Clinical Laboratory Science and Histotechnology, and one graduate, Pathologists' Assistant. The School of Medicine is part of a thriving academic medical center which also includes the Schools of Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy and Public Health. Together, the five Schools provide robust opportunities and programs for interprofessional education, collaborative practice and research.
The primary responsibility of this position is classroom and laboratory teaching within the Histotechnology Program. Other responsibilities include preparing the student laboratory for instruction, student advising and recruiting, and participation in the service and research missions of the School of Medicine.
Qualified applicants must possess a Master's degree or be actively enrolled in a Master's program in a related discipline, hold national certification as a Histotechnician or Histotechnologist, and possess work experience in a histopathology laboratory. Teaching experience is preferred.
West Virginia University is a land grant Carnegie-designated Doctoral Research/Extensive institution, with approximately 32,500 students, including 27,000 undergraduate and 5,500 graduate/professional students. The WVU Health Sciences Center includes the Schools of Pharmacy, Medicine, Dentistry, Public Health and Nursing. Patient care facilities include a 575-bed teaching hospital, a Level I trauma center, and a 70-bed psychiatric hospital.  Morgantown is within easy traveling distance of Washington, DC, to the east, Pittsburgh, PA, to the north, and Cleveland and Columbus, OH, to the northwest.  Morgantown has 55,000 residents and is rated as one of the best small towns in the U.S., with affordable housing, excellent schools, a picturesque countryside and many outdoor activities.
