[Histonet] overstained Warthin starry

Any silver stains can be lightened or removed by the old method for removing mercury pigment.  This particular timing will remove it all so I would start the sequence of steps in 5 second increments, repeat or lengthen times as needed.
1. Hydrate to distilled water.
2.Place in Lugols iodine for 5 minutes.
3.Rinse in two changes of distilled water.
4.Place in 2% sodium thiosulfate for 1 minute.
5.Wash in running tap water and rinse in two changes of distilled water.

Is there any way to lighten and over stainer WS stain?
