I completely agree with Tony. Not likely to see any sloughing off (shedding) of organisms from FFPE tissue blocks.

Cross-contamination has not been proven in FFPE tissues.

I have not seen it in nearly 40 years of practice

Do you have any evidence of cross-contamination in FFPE?

You should put the AFB control on a separate slide to prevent cross-contamination.
