Talk with the people at EXAKT technologies.  They have plastice specially designed just for samples like that.

Just an idea.  Why not use SEM?  It seems like it would be so much easier.

Subject: [Histonet] MMA or Epoxy Embedding
Hi Everyone,
I am trying to embed screws in plastic (in the hopes to see breakage in the screw, etc). Right now I use specifically a mixture of methyl methacrylate, poly methyl methacrylate, and benzoyl peroxide. However this usually takes a few weeks to embed/dry. I am looking for something a little faster (perhaps a week max?).

Thank You,
