Sadly, it is much safer than the old Chloroform clearing method.

This is sometimes known as Newel's solution for revealing lymph nodes in fatty specimens:
Newell KJ, Sawka BW, Rudrick BF, Driman DK. (2001) "GEWF solution" Arch Pathol Lab Med 125:642 645.
Absolute ethanol 1000ml
Water 340ml
Concentrated formalin (37%) 160ml
Glacial acetic acid 100ml
