Hi,
Just to clarify. Part of the reason that there are fewer specific Histotech shortages in Canada is that Histotechnology is part of the general medical laboratory technology training. So any laboratory technologist could take a job as a histotech. Overall, the need for laboratory technologists in Canada is still great. Tom

In areas where there are schools, usually there is no shortage.  Like here in Houston, we have 2 programs so no shortage.
In other areas it is challenging to find a tech.
Canada does not seem to have a shortage (that I have heard of), but I know that it can be hard for areas in the Caribbean to find techs.
I encourage my students to check the job boards frequently and be willing to relocate.  I know I would if I were younger and had no husband or kids.

I am not sure about overseas but the New Castle County does not have a shortage. There is a school in Delaware that gradutes 5-6 students a year.
