Dear all,

I am learning the Movat Pentachrome stain currently (American Mastertech
kit) and trying to stain coronary arteries. I have looked through
literature examples but have been unable to locate higher resolution
examples of arteries.

I would greatly appreciate any example images from experienced histotechs
on what the final stain should look like on arteries. Any comments and tips
would also be appreciated!

Cheers and thank you,
Vivian

Hi Kim,

I was wondering if you could be more descriptive as to what is going wrong with your PIN4 stain?

It's difficult to give a suggestion when we don't have any clue as to what your lab is visualizing.

Is it the DAB?
Is it the AP Fast Red chromagen?
Is it reduced staining or no staining?

Kind regards,

Does anyone use a different staining protocol for their cell blocks from
their normal H&E?

Our pathologists are all the sudden complaining that the cell blocks are
consistently staining lighter than the other specimens.

If you do stain differently, in what steps do you modify your protocol and
how do you modify it?

As always any responses are greatly appreciated

Good Morning!
We are circling again on these two hot topic items!
Please share what you are using for PPE for histology processes and do you also wear for embedding/cutting?
Countertop cleaning? We went to a purchases wipe and it is eating away the countertops:( Would you please share what you are using and what your process is for countertop cleaning?
We are CAP inspected.

Thank you much for your input

Just looking for some recommendations on tissue for validating BRCA-1, IHC... before I get to the pathologists... any recommendations. What I'm reading so far is ovarian carcinoma (serous) and normal breast, is that what you all have used and/or recommend?

Thanks,
Curt
