We used to put them in a large stainless steel basin, with a little bit of Alconox brand detergent. Fill the basin with hot water and bring to a boil on a hotplate. Turn it off, let the water cool for a couple of hours and all the paraffin would rise to the top and solidify. Just pick the paraffin off the top and discard, then rinse the soapy clean molds in clean water, drain and dry. No nasty chemical soaks.
