We have a few different prefixes. We use Meditech and have different enter/edit screens depending on whether the specimen is a cytology or surgical. It also help in searches and gathering statistics if you can limit to a specific prefix.

Subject: [Histonet] Combined Case prefix

How many facilities have combined their prefixes? Meaning your pathology and cytology are using the same prefix so there is no difference when accessioning cases of pathology or cytology. What do you feel are the pro's and con's of this?
