Dear all,

I have just started fixation of tetracycline bone tissue samples in Alcohol Formalin. My question is how long should samples be fixed with this solution type? Also, what are the next steps in processing the tissue?

Here is my Alcohol Formalin Solution Breakdown:

2.7mL 10% NBF (Formalin concentration is 3.7%)
7.3mL 95% EtOH

The ratio for this formula was derived from this original Alcohol Formalin Solution:

2700mL 95% EtOH
905mL DI H2O
95mL Formaldehyde (37-40% conc.)

Regards,

Jesse H.
