Joanna, I agree with Tim... We also see this at times if the tissue has freezing artifact. Gomori Trichrome is very unforgiving :)

Joanna, If it looks like it is under the section, then I would suspect trapped reagent in air bubbles, folds, etc. If it is on top of the section then maybe more rinsing is needed.

Hi, I was hoping you guys can help us with our problem with modified gomori trichrome stain for frozen muscle biopsy. We've been seeing a lot of red blotches on our slides. We've tried 3 different manufactures of chromatrope 2 R dyes, including changing our recipe. So far no success.
Hopefully you can give us some suggestions.
